Author Organization

Author Name (notes-bibliography style) - In notes-bibliography style, the surname of the first author should appear first in the entry. All subsequent author names should appear as first name followed by the surname (Chapter 17, 17.1.1, p. 166) and (Chapter 17, 17.2.1, p. 182).

Author Name (author-date style) - In author-date style, the surname of the first author should appear first in the entry. All subsequent author names should appear as first name followed by the surname (Chapter 19, 19.1.1, p. 231) and (Chapter 19, 19.2.1, p. 246).

Multiple Authors - For up to ten authors, include all authors names in the reference.

More than 3 Authors - For four or more authors, include only the names of the first three authors followed by et al. in the reference entry (Chapter 18, Figure 18.1, p. 219).

Organization Author - When an organization is the author, be sure to include the full name of the organization.

No Author - In works with no author, the title takes the author position (Chapter 17, 17.1.1.5, p. 168).

Author Editors - When referencing an edited book (not a chapter in an edited book), refer to the title page to determine whether to list the editors in addition to or in place of the author (Chapter 17, 17.1.1.1-2, p. 167-168). 

Editor Name

Editor Name - When referencing an edited book the editors should be included immediately following the book title (e.g., in author-date style: 'Edited by Ashley Kennedy and James Atwood' or in notes-bibliography style 'ed. Ashley Kennedy and James Atwood') (Chapter 19, 19.1.1.1, p. 232) and (Chapter 17, 17.1.1.1, p. 167).
